Model Name: IWC “Costeau Divers” Aquatimer 1000 Meters in Stainless Steel on Rubber Strap (Limited Edition of only 1953 examples ever produced, discontinued and rare edition). Limited Edition number is 025X/1953. Model Ref. IW354806

A tribute to Jacques-Yves Costeau, the legendary pioneering icon of diving and undersea exploration and research, this aptly numbered limited edition timepiece to 1953 pieces is a commemoration to the first red sea expedition in 1953 which spawned the winning film “Silent World”.   

Timepiece is Near Mint in Box in excellent condition with box, warranty booklet and international warranty card validated by authorized agent. The manual and watch tool will not be included in the sale as I have misplaced them. Some light scratches on the watch case and case back, no dings and dents. IWC silicone rubber strap is still in good condition.   

Movement: automatic self-winding movement, IWC caliber C. 30110, 23 jewels, 28,800 vph with an approx 42 hour power reserve.

Functions: hours, minutes, hack seconds and date.

Case: diameter 42 mm, 13 mm height; stainless steel case with inner uni-directional rotating bezel adjusted via crown at 4 o’clock, screw down crown and convex sapphire-crystal glass. Stainless steel case back engraved with “Alcyone”, the vessel used in many expeditions done by the Costeau society.

Water-resistance: Water resistant to 1000 meters.

Dial: aquamarine blue with index bar hour markers and hands with super luminova coating, date at 3 o’clock.

Strap: dark blue silicone rubber IWC strap with signed tang buckle in stainless steel.
