For sale, all time beautiful & great collector’s timepiece: Rolex Oyster Perpetual “James Bond” Submariner Ref 5508 with Radium Dial & Hands from III 1958 Golden gilt gloss dial & radium index. Matching radium hands Silver “100m/330ft” font. Transitional white triangle bezel Radium hands & dial still glow. Wear or go near this highly radioactive watch at your own peril. Watch head, case, mvmt, stem hub, gloss gold gilt radium dial & radium hands, caseback, bezel insert, bezel inlay, bezel & crown is original from 1958 & unmodified. Never relumed crisp dial 2-boxes (inner pyramid & outer), tag, anchor & hand written paper with AD stamp are included BUT, they never came with this watch. They are thrown into this sale only to almost complete this set sans the bracelets & ciggy paper. I got the boxes, tag, anchor & paper separately from VRF & include them only for the sake of complementing this sale Radium pearl dot, links, clasp & endlinks are missing Overall watch condition: 82%. Seconds are bent & all hands are slightly corroded. Crystal is a service replacement in pre-owned condition. Crown is also a service replacement in mint condition. Movement: Correct Ref 1530 & in good & original condition. No sign of major corrosion. Keep good +/- 1s accuracy. 1.5 days power reserve which show a good mainspring condition. Dial: Original radium & gold gilt in perfectly clean, slightly blemished, non-relumed, sharp edges, unbroken, non-flaking & nice dark yellow uniformed patina. Still glowing Radium dial & hands! Specks of Radium dust can be seen on the dial. Gloss & connected min track dial with silver “100M/330ft” font. All min markers are present. Hands: Original radium. Matching hour, min & sec hands & dial patina in non-flaking, unre-lumed, unblemished, clean and unbroken condition that still glows with usual corrosion on the hands. Slightly bended second hand. Crown: Recently replaced with correct ref & in mint condition Stem: Original & in good condition Winding: Smooth & with good resistance winding & time adjustment Lugs: Factory bevel is gone but lugs is still reasonably thick. Scratches & dings from normal wear are expected Case: Original & correct with dings here & there due to normal wear but no pitting or corrosion. Model & Serial number almost invincible. I can’t see it but RSC claim they can…. Caseback: Original & correct with “III 58” stamped. Still can be screwed and unscrewed with proper tools. No pitting. No sign of corrosion Crystal: Recently replaced with correct Ref in pre-owned condition with slight scratches that can be removed by Poly Bezel: Correct & still turns smoothly with good resistance and shows some brass in grip areas Bezel Insert: Correct insert with signs of wear, dings & scratch due to 52years or wear.
