This is a very rare Pre Vendom Panerai that is from the era when Panerai was owned by the Panerai family and not yet owned by Richmont. Panerai watches were not offered to the public until 1991 (all previous models were made for military use only). This is one of the first models introduced to the public in the early 1990's and one of the models Sylvester Stallone fell in love with and commissioned similar pieces to be made.
You will enjoy the 44 mm size watch with the patented locking crown. It has a black military style PVD coating. The watch is in very good to excellent condition. There are some minor scratches and scuffs on the bezel which give this timepiece tons of character. It comes with its original mahogany box, libretto and brass screwdriver. The strap is not original, but appears to be from the same manufacturer from the same time period. It has the original Panerai PVD Logo buckle that is sewn into the strap. My guess is the original owner ordered this unique color to make his timepiece even more special.
Notice the thick numerals! They are slightly recessed into the dial and painted in tritium. The fat creamy numbers on the black dial are just awesome!
