I seem to have a strong prejudice for military-styled watches and that’s why I currently own 5 Zeno’s – Zeno seem to favor them also. This Canteen-Type 1940’s WWII style is model WR16155, and is a faithful recreation of the original underwater US Navy-issued timepieces produced by Elgin, Bulova and Hamilton during the war. I’m selling this one because I desperately need the space for the rest of my collection. It is a watch worn by me only a couple of times because I rotate through the collection daily. It is in absolutely mint condition except for a few scratches on the back – a careless watchmaker changing the battery for me. For that reason I rate it at about the TZ 95% - NEAR MINT. This high quality piece has a brushed stainless steel case and screw-down stainless steel back which is stamped: “USN BU SHIPS”. It is fitted with a quality re-creation of the military WWII-style olive green khaki canvas strap. It has a non-glare semi-domed crystal of hardened acrylic, and just like the originals, the “Screw-Down Canteen –Style” crown cover is attached to a steel O-ring chain secured to the side of the case, and is water resistant to 3 ATM. It is powered by a precision ISA 1148 quartz movement, which has a hack feature. The dial is black satin enamel and is signed U.S.N. BU SHIPS below the 12 in raised subdued black lettering. It has blued steel luminous hands, white center second hand, a 60-minute outer track, and bold white Arabic numerals. This Near Mint watch features, • Swiss Quartz Movement • Hardened Acrylic Crystal • Screw-On SS Back • Special Screw-Down Canteen-Style Crown Cover • Water Resistance 30m • Black Satin Dial With U.S.N. BU SHIPS • Blued Steel Luminous Hands, White Second Hand & White Arabic Numerals. • Green Khaki Canvas Strap With Steel Buckle • Case 40mm Wide I’m fond of all my collection but this one has got to go – I’m asking $95 OBO – plus $5 Shipping in CONUS. I’ve seen EBAY prices as high as $150 plus S&H. I accept and prefer PayPal with no surcharge. My PayPal ID is "chucks@tcq.net". I would also accept personal check or Postal Money Order but shipment would be held until the check clears. PayPal $ directly to my account would get a “next day” shipment. An international sale is possible but that would require and adjustment in shipping costs.. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at chucks@tcq.net.
