This is a retro reproduction of a German Sextant mechanical watch, which was used by the rocket engineers in Peenemünde. At the Peenemünde, Germany test and research center, scientist Wernher von Braun calculated V2 missile flight data with watches of similar design. It is an all mechanical (hand wind) specimen built in a limited production lot of just 200 watches – this is #72. It is crafted in the tradition of the 40’s with a white dial, black hands and markers, and a particularly interesting little "Second Balance” timing mechanism at 8 o’clock, for which I have no reasonable explanation – sorry. It also has a display back which shows off the fine Aeromatic movement. I need to sell it In order to compress my collection down to accommodate my storage capacity. I enjoy wearing all of my watches and so I rotate them daily - this one has only been worn about 3 times and so it’s in Mint condition at about 98%. The only thing that keeps it from 100% is the faint indentations on the leather band from my few wearings. This Mint watch features, • Hand Wind 17 Jewel “Aeromatic 3165-2” Movement • Scratch Resistant Mineral Crystal • Screw-On Stainless Steel Display Back • "Second Balance +1/-1" Indicator • Water Resistance 50m • Full Luminous White Dial With Luminous Hands • High Quality Brown Leather Strap with Thorn Buckle • Stainless Steel Case 40mm Wide I’m asking for $90 OBO plus $5 Shipping in CONUS for this fine piece - I’ve seen prices as high as $100 elsewhere. I accept and prefer PayPal with no surcharge. My PayPal ID is "chucks@tcq.net". I would also accept personal check or money order but shipment would be held until the check/M.O. clears. PayPal payments would get a “next day” shipment. An international sale is possible but that would require and adjustment in shipping costs.. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at chucks@tcq.net.
