World?s Most Scratch-Resistant Watch Manufacturer, SARO-Gem Jewellery Watch Company, Enters North American Market.

NEW YORK/EWORLDWIRE/June 28, 2006 - SARO-Gem Jewellery Watch Company (SARO-Gem) of Bettlach, Switzerland today announced the opening of its New York City luxury timepieces sales office for the United States and Canada. Hand assembled in Bettlach, SARO-Gem uses a 60-step patented process to produce the world?s most scratch-resistant watches ? watches are created with a sapphire overlay, the second hardest substance known to man besides diamonds.

Because Sapphire is so durable, it is difficult to process and requires shaping through cutting, grinding and polishing, to get the desired size and the shape of the watch bezel and each individual bracelet link.

Both men and women?s models are available with a ten-year warranty and are waterproof to 50 meters, and all models are fully customizable.

Rolf von Burg, president of SARO-Gem Jewellery Watch Company in Bettlach, stated, "Although we always have and always will offer standard models for distribution, our entry into the North American market brings our limited production models to a new audience. SARO-Gem customized watches are unique - customers can choose from thousands of variations because each unit is hand-assembled at the factory."

Executive Vice President of SARO-Gem US Gerard Diffine added, ?The after-market business is very big business in the U.S. But customizing a watch after it has been manufactured means it is not an original. The SARO-Gem strategy is to bring back the lost art of handmade, original watch-making in its truest form to the U.S. market. Customers receive original watches which include all the options they chose. With the BuonGusto 43 Chronograph, a wide variety of dial faces and colors, bezels, diamond arrangements on dial and case, case material, strap type, clasp, and even down to the color of the case back screws, make the possibilities endless.?

All SARO-Gem watches are manufactured in limited editions, either 99 or 999 depending on the complexity. The International Gemological Institute (IGI) in New York certifies all watches shipped within North America. This certifies to customers all aspects of the sapphire, diamonds, gold, and gems; each purchase will be accompanied by an estimate appraisal for insurance purposes.

SARO-Gem was founded and based on the patented technology of Sapphire over stainless steel and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. The company plans limited edition U.S. and Swiss watches to commemorate this occasion.

The company?s current models consist of the Carat, Carat AQ, Integral Dome, Cube, and Excellence sapphire watches. The company also introduced the BuonGusto 43 Jubilee Chronograph line in 1998.
